"Geordie" Lavers McBain was actually christened Douglas James Edward Geordie Lavers-McBain but answers to Geordie. Geordie is one of the College's most successful graduates with two full time schools under his belt, nine satellite schools and in excess of 500 personal students. He also runs a successful stable of Muay Thai fighters. He is pictured to the left with Jessica "Dragon" Tolhurst
Geordie is the president of the Gold Coast Weightlifting Club, a member of the board of the Oceania Muay Thai Federation (affiliated with World Muay Thai Council) and is an executive member of the Martial Arts Industry Representative Council Inc. He is also a member in good standing of the International Martial Arts Alliance, the Jiu Jitsu & Grappling Association of Australia, the Judo Federation of Australia (Qld) Inc; the International Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate Federation (Aust.)
Geordies martial arts background is extensive. Over the past 20 years Geordie has accomplished the following ranks in a variety of martial arts systems: 6th Dan Black Dragon Kai (Kokurukai ); Probationary 6th Dan Bushikai Karate ; 5th Dan Zen Do Kai Karate; 6th Degree ABK Muay Thai Kickboxing; 5th Degree BJC Muay Thai Kickboxing; 6th Degree Infinity Freestyle Tae Kwon Do; 5th Degree Ninjutsu Kokusu-ryu; Blue Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; 3rd  Degree Iaido (Ishin Ryu Iaido); 2nd Degree Iaido-Kenjutsu-Meishinkan; 2nd Degree Arnis/Eskrama/Kali; 1st Degree Kyusho Jitsu; Black Sash Kung Fu Karato Atedo; NCAS Level 1 Boxing Coach and Yellow Belt Combat Aikido. |
